Bored?

February 25, 2009

I was quite bored this morning, browsing some crabby old website again and again, until i stuble on this certain website that teaches you on how to create your own Wordpress Theme.  Since i have a self-hosted wordpress blog, i then started to check the page.

The tutorial is quite simple, even a non-”techie” person can actually understand what this dude is talking about.

I think you only need a lil knowledge in using Adobe Photoshop and CSS/XHHTML.

You can check the site here: http://themetation.com/2008/07/14/how-to-create-wordpress-themes-from-scratch-part-1/

Now that’s a great way to fight boredom.

Candle Light

February 17, 2008

It was around three in the morning when I woke up because of this erratice noise I hear from a party blocks away from my place.  Got nothing to do at all, and then I saw this crabby-old-cheap candle holder.  I hurriedly get my camera, lit the candles and start shooting in different angles

Talk Show Transcript

February 16, 2008

Host:

Professor:       Tesa Rose Misa

Student:          Zenaida Mozo

Actress:          Alpha Mae Lagura

Psychologist:  Michelle Llagoso

“EDUCATION IS NOT IMPORTANT TO SUCCEED IN LIFE”

Host:

Good morning everyone and welcome to the show “NAKED EYE”.  We are here with our guests composed of different individuals in the society.  They are here to give their own stand - about our topic, “EDUCATION IS NOT IMPORTANT TO SUCCEED IN LIFE”.

We have Ms. Tesa Rose Misa, a professor of the College of Education of Cebu Normal University.  We also have Ms. Zenaida Mozo, a student from the College of Commerce of Cebu Institute Technology.  A famous actress and gained some awards of the recently concluded Cinema One Originals, Ms. Alpha Mae Lagura.  We are also joined by our resident Psychologist Ms. Michelle Llagoso.

Host:  Ms. Tesa, as a professor of a well known university in Cebu, is education not   important to succeed in life?

Professor:  You know what, I myself also thought of that idea.  But based on my observation, when I was in my grade school years, no person will ever progress without education.  Education is a key of every person’s success in life.

Host:   Thank you Professor Tesa.

Host:    Now let’s hear the side of our guest student, Ms. Zenaida.

What can you say about this Ms. Mozo?

Student:  My mom once told me that “Ang mga kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan” as what also our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal told us in our history.  For me is how can this be possible if we, the supposed to be the “hope” of our country, don’t have education at hand.  The knowledge we acquire from the lessons in school is irreplaceable.  Thus, education can be the weapon of the future.

Host:   Very well said.

Host:   The award winning actress Ms. Alpha Mae Lagura.

I know as an artist you’re so busy with tapings, auditions and stuffs like that.    Have you ever thought of going to school and finish your studies?

Actress:  Thanks for the compliment.

About education, it’s so hard for me to fit it on my busy schedule.  Though, I’ve always thought of finishing my studies.  But because of my work, my busy schedule, it’s really hard for me.  However, if given a chance to go back to this four walled classroom, why not.

Host:  Well, good luck on your studies Ms. Alpha.

Host:  Now let us hear the side of our resident Psychologist.

Ms. Michelle, what can you say about this?

Psychologist:  You know these days, a lot of our kids happen to be not in school.  They have their own reasons for not able to go to school.  Most of the kids that are not in school are the sons’/daughters’ of less fortunate families.  Poverty is really a big factor for those students who are not attending class in school.  How can their parents send them to school that even securing food for the day is kind of hard to achieve.  Imagine a person without education; it’s like a body without a soul.

(Just get the gist of your answers, if possible don’t memorize)

Good Luck!

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated

Kant’s Categorical Imperative

February 15, 2008

Kant’s Categorical Imperative

The 18th century philosopher Immanuel Kant considered it absolutely necessary for a person to treat other equally and with respect.  He suggested two principles for examining whether a person has the right to act a certain way in a given situation.  He referred to these principles as consistency and respect.  The principles of consistency and respect are aspects of what Kant called categorical imperative.

 Consistency

Be fair in all our actions.  Asks the question “Would everyone benefit (or would no one be harmed) if everyone were to take the action being considered”.  If not, do not take it.

 Respect

This suggests that we treat people with dignity.  People are ends in themselves, not means.  If we use people as slaves, we deny their humanness and do not show them respect.  Thus, slavery violates the categorical imperatives.

I got these one from the lesson that we tackle on our Professional Ethics and Values Education class.  And I really hope that GMA can read this entry.

I’ll be posting more of Anti GMA related articles here, coz I feel sorry for our country because of the issue of corruption.  Imagine, the 20% commission on all the Government projects is a SOP.

The ZTE Broadband Deal and the Hello Garci scandal.

Burn

February 14, 2008

Burning as if it’s the pathetic running of politics in the Philippines.  They should be the epitome of honesty to the citizens of the country, however, they are doing things that is against the constitution.

Gloria Macapagal - Arroyo, you better go down from your position now before anyone do it for ya!

Four administrations before you, Philippines was once considered as the "Tiger of Asia".  But now we became the tick of asia.

Shame on you!

How I wish that Cebu is separated from Philippines and became and independent country.  We could be the richest country.  Cebu now is like a "Little Singapore" and I’m proud of that.

For those who appreciate GMAs’ effort for the country, think twice!
